Robotics Engineering Experience
- 10-17 year olds
This camp will provide an exciting experience in robotics and engineering that is suitable for all levels of experience for students 10 - 17. It includes an introduction to programming of RC (Radio Controlled) components and basic power tool use as teams use them to build a robot for the exciting camp competition. This camp will utilize the Engineering Design Process as campers work with teammates to come up with the best solution to real problems - then test and tweak their ideas. An overview of 3D Drawing techniques in DSS Solidworks will be included as well. In addition to building a robot to complete the task, students will work in a team environment, write an engineering manual, and learn important lessons in marketing and project management.

DSS Solidworks is an industry leader in computer aided, 3D Design software. During this robotics engineering experience, every student will be given opportunities to design robot parts using Solidworks and to learn from experienced Solidworks students. In addition to this priceless and unique experience, each student will leave with a one-year license for the student version of Solidworks so that they can continue learning after camp is over.
This camp is designed for students ten and older and is presented by Dr. Shelly Gruenig and Be Greater Than Average LLC. This STEAM peer learning experience emphasizes informal science education (free-choice learning), project-based (inquiry-based) learning, and systems thinking that is appropriate for all levels of experience.
