Melissa is a homeschool mom of 4 girls.

She graduated from UNM with a dual licence in education and has been teaching in various capacities for over 20 years.

She began working for Be Greater Than Average(BGTA) in 2020 after her daughters attended summer camps and participated on the R4 Robotics team.

She helps create content, runs social media, do outreach support, hosts our virtual family fun nights and on occasion has the opportunity to teach in our camps and classes.

“I love working for BGTA because these programs go beyond STEM education. The peer learning model, mentorship and diversity in subjects are unique to this organization. Students are learning emerging technology, but beyond that, they are discovering their purpose, their passions and given opportunities to become leaders themselves. I love watching those ah-ha moments, seeing curiosity sparked, obstacles overcome and friendships found.”
